IND vs SL: Another day and yet again, KL Rahul has been trolls target for his poor run in international cricket. Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad has criticised Team India selection for giving KL Rahul a long run amidst his poor form.
Rahul scored just 39 runs at the time Indian innings needed acceleration and a batsman to fire along with Virat Kohli. Taking it to Twitter, Prasad stressed that the constant changes in the team has hurt the team’s performance overall in the limited-overs format.
“Think fair would have been to give chance to a man who scored a double hundred in India’s last ODI, and in a series where India lost two games and the series.
“Have all the time in the world for Gill, but no way you drop a player for scoring a double ton,” Prasad said in a series of tweets.
Rahul over Suryakumar or a wicketkeeper over Suryakumar
Rahul is the designated wicketkeeper batter in India’s playing eleven but he plays over Suryakumar Yadav who is the world number one in T20Is. But going with permutations and combinations, if Suryakumar plays in place of out-of-form Rahul then the team will be needing a wicketkeeper to balance the setup. In that scenario, Ishan Kishan is the only choice that India have but at the top order. So to make Suryakumar play in place of KL Rahul, India needs to drop Shubman Gill and make Ishan Kishan play at the top.

The year 2023 is a World Cup year, and balancing the team is another priority for Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid-led team management.
