Ind Vs WI 2023: The hype for India and West Indies is increasing with each passing day. Not only will it be a new start for the Indian team but also for West Indies. West Indies cricket team desperately needs a new start after their disastrous performance in World Cup qualifiers.
With West Indies ready to begin their practice for the upcoming series against India A, the West Indies cricket board has announced an 18-player preparatory squad ahead of the series. All the players are playing CWC qualifiers and will join the squad by July 9th.
On the other hand, India has already announced their 16-man squad ahead of the Ind Vs WI 2023. India has given chances to a few youngsters while some of the youngsters were ignored. Many experts and former cricketers have criticized the decisions harshly.
Ind Vs WI 2023: The Preparation Camp Begins
The preparation camp ahead of the India Vs West Indies series has already begun. The camp will feature some of the West Indies test specialist players. Kraigg Braithwaite will also lead the side in the preparation camp and the series.
Other players in the training camp will be Jermaine Blackwood, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Rahkeem Cornwall, Joshua Da Silva, Shannon Gabriel, and Kemar Roach, among others.
Meanwhile, the first batch of Indian players has already reached West Indies. Axar Patel, Mohammed Siraj, and KS Bharat have landed in West Indies already, with other players joining them soon. Other players are reported to leave in the first week of July.
The Redemption Arc
The Ind Vs WI 2023 series can be a redemption arc for both of these teams. India will like to forget their WTC 2023 final loss and will embark on a new journey. The Indian team gives youngsters chances to select their World Cup 2023 team.
Meanwhile, West Indies might not have been completely knocked out of the World Cup qualifiers yet, but it is really hard for them. They are currently sitting in 5th position in the super six with 0 wins in 2 matches.
West Indies were supposed to be the favorite alongside Sri Lanka to qualify for the World Cup. This series will also be a new start for them as it will embark on the start of the World Test Championship cycle.
