Kyle Mayers hits bullseye
In the fourth over of India’s innings, during a quick single attempt by Ishan Kishan off Obed McCoy at mid-wicket, Kyle Mayers swiftly gathered the ball and delivered a direct hit at the striker’s end. Despite Yadav’s diving effort, he was found well short of the crease. The dismissal led to India being reduced to 18/2 after 3.3 overs by West Indies.
In a similar fashion, Mayers had run out Sanju Samson in the last T20I. Following the dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav’s struggles continued during the West Indies tour. In the first T20I, he scored a run-a-ball 21, contributing to India’s narrow four-run loss. In the three ODIs against the same opponents, he managed just 78 runs, with a top score of 35 in the third game. Despite this, India won the series 2-1.
