IND vs WI: West Indies captain Rovman Powell won the toss and elected to bat first in the first T20I of the series. The decision appeared to go in their way as opener Brandon King provided the Windies with a rapid start, contributing 28 runs. However, the game took a dramatic turn when Chahal was introduced into the attack. He took two wickets within 3 balls and completely jolted the top order.

Windies had a good start as they scored 29 runs within the first four overs. Hardik Pandya then called in the spinner in the hope for some early wickets and Chahal did not disappoint. In his first over, Chahal successfully dismissed Kyle Mayers, who had been facing challenges in the powerplay, with an LBW decision. Mayers, unable to execute the sweep shot, didn’t opt for a review, resulting in West Indies being at 29/1.
Chahal’s brilliance didn’t end there. He delivered another blow by dismissing Brandon King, who had been spearheading the West Indies’ charge. The LBW appeal was referred to the third umpire, and after reviewing, the decision came back in favour of India with three reds, confirming King’s dismissal. This left the West Indies in a precarious position at 30/2, with two of their key openers already back in the pavilion.
