IND vs WI: Tilak Varma has a brilliant debut series so far. In both matches, he was the only Indian batsman that performed well. And after reaching his maiden T20i fifty in the second match, he did something special that will melt your heart.
Tilak was once again the top scorer for India, and he dedicated his maiden half-century to Rohit Sharma’s daughter Samaira, and it was truly heart whelming. The left-handed batsman revealed this in the post-match interview.
India might have lost the match, but Tilak has established himself as one of the best players in the game’s shortest format. He has stated that throwing him out of the team will be hard, and he should be considered for T20 World Cup in 2024.
A Special Celebration
After reaching his fifty, the Mumbai Indians batsman raised his bat to acknowledge the crowd. After that, he put his bat under his arms and did a dance celebration that many Rohit Sharma fans immediately understood.
The dance was prepared by Tilak Varma and Samaira Sharma for Rohit Sharma’s birthday previously. And Tilak remembered the dance and a promise that she made to Sammy. The debutant stated the reason in the post-match conference.
“It was all about Sammy, Rohit bhai’s daughter. Our relationship is very good. I had told her that whenever I score a hundred or a fifty for India, I’ll do it as a celebration. We both play with each other like that.” Tilak stated.
Ind vs WI: A Bitter Pill To Swallow
Despite the brilliant batting performances by the young batsman, India has suffered defeat in both matches so far. The half-centurion reflected on the performances of the team after the match.
“Wicket was a bit on the slower side, and it was also double-paced. We thought anything between 150-160 would be a good score. I guess at the end; we were ten runs short.” Tilak praised Nicholas Pooran, who stole the show with a 29-ball half-century that helped West Indies grab a stellar win.
