Ind W Vs Ban W: Shafali Verma took three wickets in the last over to save India from utter humiliation. After winning the first match very easily, the Indian team was looking to sweep the whole series in the same fashion.
But what happened in the second T20 was unlike anything anyone expected. Bangladesh team came out hungry and were on top of India for most of the match. It was completely visible in the first inning where India was only able to make 95 runs.
If it was not for the bowler’s heroics bowling and miraculous last over, team India would have suffered a humiliating defeat. But as they won the match and clinched the three-match series, let’s take a look at the match report.
Shambolic Batting; Bowling Ressurection
While batting first, every Indian batswoman failed to dent the scoreboard in any way. None of the players touched the score of 20 and Shafali Verma was the highest scorer with 19 runs in 14 deliveries.
After her, Smriti Mandhana(13), Yastika Bhatia(11), Deepti Sharma(10), and Amanjot Kaur(14), were the only batswomen that touched double figures. Sultana Khatun took three wickets for Bangladesh and completely annihilated India’s batting.
On a bowling-friendly pitch, Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma shined and took three wickets each. Every bowler bowled on the right line and made life hell for the Bangladesh team. Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana was the top scorer with 38 runs in 55 deliveries.
Clinched The Series
With this victory, the Indian team has clinched the Ind W Vs Ban W series. They have won 2 out of 2 matches, but this performance was far away from being good. With Asian Games and ultimately World Cup coming to a close, they need to perform well, otherwise, humiliation is not that far away.
