India vs Bangladesh ODI: Danish Kaneria, a former cricketer for Pakistan, believes Virat Kohli should receive credit for Ishan Kishan’s double century against Bangladesh in the third One-Day International on Saturday at Chattogram (December 10). He claimed that Kishan received guidance from the former India captain throughout his innings, which allowed the kid to maintain composure and play his naturally aggressive style of cricket.
In order to put India in control, Kohli and Kishan collaborated on a game-winning 290-run stand for the second wicket. In their allotted 50 overs, the pair assisted the Men in Blue in posting a massive total of 409-8.
Kishan gave credit to Kohli
Kaneria said,”Virat Kohli should be given credit for Ishan Kishan’s double century. He was guiding him.” Additionally, Kishan gave Kohli credit for his insightful counsel during the record collaboration. The lefty remarked, “Batting with Virat bhai, he has a such good sense of the game. He was calming me down when I was in my 90s. I wanted to bring it up with a six, but he said to get it in singles, as it’s your first.” The three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand next month will feature the wicketkeeper batsman, who will try to maintain his outstanding performance.
Kaneria praised Virat Kohli
Kaneria also praised Virat Kohli after the Delhi player reached his first international century in three years with his 44th ODI century. The former athlete said that Kohli performed admirably at his native No. 3 position. In the second ODI in Mirpur, Kohli opened the innings in place of the injured skipper Rohit Sharma before departing cheaply. Kaneria added, “Virat Kohli came out to bat at his specific number. He scored runs at that spot. Don’t shuffle the lineup. It can affect confidence levels. It’s better to stick with certain positions for players who have played at specific spots for a long time.”
