India vs Sri Lanka: The Chetan Sharma-led selection panel picked their last bunch of players for Team India for the upcoming Sri Lanka T20Is and ODI series. The selection committee has been in controversy ever since they held the job. With BCCI and selectors rarely giving reasons for their decision, players’ disappointment for not being included in the team has been the highlight in the last couple of months.
On Tuesday, BCCI announced the Indian team for the T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka starting in January. Many big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul are not in the T20I team. While Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan were not added in the ODI team.
Hardik Pandya being promoted as the vice-captain of the Indian ODI team was also one of the main highlights of the selection.
Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw who has been in impeccable form in the last two years in domestic circuit saw yet another snub. The Mumbai batter responded to the snub by posting some poetry on his Instagram account, expressing his disappointment through Shayari.
It was an Instagram Reel that Shaw shared on his Story. It was a shayari (poetry) from Uzair Hijazi; “Kisi ne muft me paa liya vo shakhs, jo mujhe har keemat pe chahiye tha” (Translation: The thing I needed the most, someone got it for free).
India will play three ODIs and three T20Is vs Sri Lanka.
