India vs Sri Lanka: Shivam Mavi guides India to glory on debut

India vs Sri Lanka: India defeat Sri Lanka by 2 runs in a thriller at the Wankhede Stadium during the first T20I of the three-match series. Defending the total of 163 runs, Indian bowled delivered to the expectations in the first powerplay overs and also the middle-overs. But in the death overs, Chamika Karunaratne and Wanindu Hasaranga played quick-fire knocks for Sri Lanka to guide their team to the winning line.

Shivam Mavi was the pick of the Indian bowlers in the contest with his terrific performance on debut. Mavi picked 4 wickets by giving just 22 runs in his quota of four overs while Umran Malik returned with the figures of 2/27.

Hooda, Patel give perfect finishing touch

Earlier, Indian batters put 162 runs on board with Ishan Kishan giving a perfect start with his 37-run knock. Later in the final overs, Deepak Hooda (41 off 23) and Axar Patel (31 off 20) proved their worth and scored with over 150 strike rates to take the team to a good score.

India lead series 1-0

India lead the series 1-0 with two more games to go. The next match will be played in Pune on Thursday followed by the final one in Rajkot on Saturday and the three ODIs next week.
