Prior to Friday’s remarkable achievements, India had secured merely four medals in track and field events. At just 23 years old, Yarraji impressed the world with her speed, clocking 12.78 seconds in the women’s 100m hurdles final to secure the coveted bronze medal. Her remarkable performance not only earned her the third-place position but also surpassed her previous national record of 12.82 seconds set in October 2022. The gold medal was claimed by Viktoria Forster of Slovakia, who finished with a time of 12.72, while the silver medal went to Yanni Wu of China, who completed the race in 12.76 seconds.
