Savita Punia: Savita Punia, the captain of India’s hockey team, wed in grandeur. Ankit, a software engineer from Sonepat and Canada, is the husband of Savita Punia. The wedding ceremony was held on Wednesday at Chandigarh’s Park Plaza Hotel. The programme was only attended by close family members.
Ankit Balhara wed without a dowry
Savita Punia, a resident of Sirsa’s Jodhka village, has long brought honour to Sirsa both domestically and abroad. Currently, Savita is the Indian hockey team’s captain. Mahendra Punia, the father of Savita Punia, revealed that his daughter was wed to Ankit, the Son of Sonipat-born artist Bhal Singh Balhara. Ankit Balhara, his son-in-law, wed without a dowry and just accepted one rupee as shagun. Ankit Balhara is also a play back singer in film industry .

VIP guests attended the wedding
The Indian squad is now led by Savita Punia, a Jodhkan village inhabitant and the daughter of Mahendra Singh Punia. In the year 2008, Savita first picked up a hockey stick. Savita, a custodian and captain, holds numerous records. By stopping eight penalty corners versus Australia in the Tokyo Olympics, she earned the nickname “The Great Wall.” Savita Punia has since been given the reins as coach of the Indian women’s hockey team. The Arjuna Award has also been given to Savita Punia. Rajni, Deepika, Vandana, Sushila, Channu, and other Indian national team athletes as well as VIP guests attended the wedding.
