IPL 2020: Kohli warns players before the mega tournament, know what the captain wants?

Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli, briefed the team’s first virtual meeting for the Indian Premier League (IPL), he appealed to players to maintain a biologically safe environment (bio bubble), he warned that a mistake can destroy the entire tournament.

Virat Kohli also initially urged fellow players to follow the rules implemented by the authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The upcoming season of IPL will be played in the UAE from 19 September to 10 November due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kohli said in the conference that, “We are following whatever has been said to us. I would like everyone not to compromise in ensuring the ‘bio bubble’. I think the entire tournament could be spoiled by a mistake by any one of us and none of us would want that.”

RCB Director of Cricket Operations Mike Hessan and head coach Simon Katich were also present at the meeting. In response to Kohli’s question, Hessan explained the consequences of violation of rules. He said, “This (violation) will be dealt with very strictly. For accidental violations, the players will be sent on segregation for seven days and then allowed to return (in the bio bubble) only after being tested negative.”
