IPL 2023 Auction: Sam Curran has broken all the records ever set in the IPL auction table. The England cricketer who is known for his terrific performance in this format has been purchased by PBKS (Punjab Kings) for a record-breaking Rs.18.5 crore. He has now emerged as the most expensive player in the IPL. Earlier, this record was held by Chris Morris who was bought for Rs. 16 crore by Rajasthan Royals in 2021.
Cameron Green became the second biggest purchase so far as he was bought by MI for whooping Rs. 17.5 cr. Ben Stokes of England too ignited the auction table when he was purchased by CSK for an astounding 16.25 crore. Harry Brook was sold to SRH for Rs. 13.25 crore. Former PBKS skipper Mayank Agarwal too was bought by SRH for Rs. 8.25 crore. To the reigning champion Gujarat Titans, Kane Williamson was sold for his base fee of 2 crore.
In today’s IPL 2023 auction in Kochi, teams are trying to fill the holes in their respective squads. Contrary to the previous one, this mini-auction is surrounded by just as much expectation and eagerness. All-rounders Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, and Cameron Green from Australia are all anticipated to be the targets of a bidding battle. Manish Pandey, a seasoned Indian player, is still to come.

The IPL 2023 Auction involves 405 players
The 10 franchises will be given the chance to submit bids for 405, of which 273 are Indians and 132 are foreign players, including 4 players from associate nations. There are one or two surprises in every auction. Yes, all-arounders, multi-utility players, and athletes described as “X-factors” frequently experience success, but there is no guarantee in any of it.
