IPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has a strong following, despite not winning an Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 15 seasons. In a recent RCB Insider video, Mr. Nags (played by Danish Sait) joked with former RCB captain Virat Kohli about Smriti Mandhana’s comment on achieving great things like Kohli for the franchise. Mr. Nags then went on to point out that RCB women’s team won only two games, hinting at the men’s team’s poor performance over the years. Surprisingly, Virat laughed it off and now the hilarious reaction has turned into a viral video across social media.

What did Smriti Mandhana say
When RCB introduced their Women’s Premier League (WPL) team, they were fortunate to have star players such as Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Richa Ghosh, and Renuka Singh Thakur on board. Ahead of the tournament, Mandhana, who is the captain of RCB’s WPL team, was asked about the comparisons between her team and Kohli’s RCB team, given some similarities between the two teams.
She said, “I don’t like that kind of comparison because what he (Kohli) has achieved is amazing. I just hope that I reach that level, but I’m nowhere near. What he has achieved for this franchise (RCB), I would like to try and do that.”
RCB, despite having a star-studded lineup, didn’t live up to the fans’ expectations in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), winning only two games and finishing fourth in the five-team tournament. This led to fans comparing the WPL team’s fate to that of the men’s team, which has yet to win an IPL title despite having all the resources. Kohli found it hilarious and even swore a couple of times before responding seriously.

Virat Kohli then continued further by saying, “This is big franchise pressure. A lot of people take it as fun and games, ‘this team doesn’t win. Come play when you have so much expectations, we are a big team otherwise, why would we have so many fans if we had some faltu team?”
