IPL 2023: The 16th season of the highly anticipated Indian Premier League has kicked off at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Before the start of the match, there was an impressive opening ceremony that included the unveiling of CSK captain MS Dhoni and GT Captain Hardik Pandya with great fanfare, which delighted the fans in attendance. This was also the first ever opening ceremony for IPL since 2018.

Royal Entry from Captains

The star-studded IPL Opening ceremony included performances from Arijit Singh, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Rashmika Mandanna. Just after the performance was over, all the three stars were called upon the stage and were later joined by BCCI President Roger Binny, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal.

Just when everyone had arrived on the stage, the skippers were called too and their Royal entry left fans in awe. People welcomed both of them with a rapturous welcome as they came on a buggy and almost a dozen dancers coming with them. MS Dhoni made his entry first while Hardik Pandya came in second with the IPL trophy in his hand. The video from the ceremony is now going viral on social media. The vehicle in which they made their entry, was designed specially as per the team.

BCCI officials and both the captains then posed with the trophy for picture and the preparation for the first match then began. Coming to the match, Gujarat Giants won the toss and opt to field first in the opening clash of the tournament.
