IPL 2023: One of the most talked-about controvy from the previous IPL was the conflict between Ravindra Jadeja and the administration of the Chennai Super Kings. It has been six months since those rumours first surfaced, and it now appears like Jadeja will remain with CSK after all.
Jadeja quit the team’s training in Mumbai after receiving a rib ailment because he was upset at being abruptly stripped of the captaincy. He removed every CSK-related post from his social media sites, which created irrational rumours.
There have been requests to trade the Saurashtra left-hander from CSK as the trading deadline of November 15 draws near, but it appears MS Dhoni is keen on keeping him with the squad. Because Dhoni has faith in Jadeja’s skills, he might not even accept a like-for-like substitute like Axar Patel from the Delhi Capitals.
Jadeja’s rift with CSK
It is apparent from the skipper’s communication to the management that Jadeja cannot be released. Because of how important he is to the squad and the fact that CSK plays its home games in Chennai, Dhoni believed that Jadeja’s influence could not be replaced by another player.
However, it is true that Jadeja had not communicated with the CSK management in a very long period. He had an injury in the meantime that prevented him from making India’s World Cup team, and he is currently working on a recovery.
After a protracted sabbatical, the 32-year-old will get a fresh start, and the fact that he has known the team for ten years may tip the scales in CSK’s favour.
