IPL 2024 Auction: The thrilling IPL 2024 Auction day is now over. After spending a total of Rs 230.45 crore, the teams selected 72 players, 30 of whom were from overseas. On Tuesday, there were unprecedented scenes for everyone as the Rs 20 crore mark was crossed. To become the first player to ever break the Rs 20-crore barrier, Pat Cummins first went for Rs 20.50 crore to SRH.

Then, Mitchell Starc shattered that record when he signed a contract with KKR for an incredible Rs 24.75 crore, the highest amount ever paid for an IPL player. The most expensive Indian player was Harshal Patel, who PBKS signed for a reported Rs 11.75 crore.

CSK’s Unearthed Gem at Rs 8.4 Crore

Sameer Rizvi, an uncapped batsman for CSK (Rs 8.4 crore), surprised everyone. Other notable purchases included Shahrukh Khan (Rs 7.40 crore, GT), Kumar Kushagra (Rs 7.2 crore, DC), Travis Head (SRH, Rs 6.80 crore), Daryl Mitchell (Rs 14 crore, CSK), Alzarri Joseph (Rs 11 crore, RCB), Rilee Rossouw (Rs 8 crore, PBKS), and Rovman Powell (RR, Rs 7.40 crore).
