IPL 2024: Things are not getting good for Hardik Panyda and Mumbai Indians. On Tuesday, they got knocked out of the ongoing IPL tournament officially after losing to Lucnknow Super Giants. But things got even worse from there.

The Mumbai side suffered a humiliating defeat to Lucknow as their whole top order excluding Ishan Kishan was only able to make 24 runs. As a result, MI was only able to make 144/7 in 20 overs. This was mostly due to Nehal Wadhera and Tim David who scored 35 runs in just 18 deliveries.

Jasprit Bumrah and Pandya tried to come back with the ball in their hands but it was no good. The skipper took 2 wickets himself but Marcus Stoinis scored a brilliant half-century to get LSG over the line.

But that was not all, as after the match it was reported that the whole playing 11 of the Mumbai Indians have been fined by BCCI. The Mumbai side was found guilty of maintaining a slow over rate for the second time in IPL 2024.

Mumbai Indians Punished

The BCCI punished the entire Mumbai Indians side as they were found guilty of maintaining a considerably slow over rate for the second time in the tournament. Hardik Pandya will have to pay a whopping 24 lakh fine while other players have to pay a Rs 6 lakh fine.

“Mr Hardik Pandya, Captain, Mumbai Indians has been fined. After his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match 48 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on April 30, 2024,” BCCI said in a statement.

One Match IPL 2024 Ban?

This is the second time Pandya has been found guilty of this incident. One more incident and he will be serving a one-match ban, so he has to be careful from now on.
