IPL 2024: Things are not going well for Harshit Rana off the field. While his performances on the field are improving day by day for Kolkata, he is constantly getting in trouble for his actions.
On Tuesday, it was announced by the Indian Premier League Discipline Board that the medium pacer has been reprimanded once again. This is the second time that Rana has been punished for breaching IPL’s code of conduct.
He earlier got reprimanded for his outrageous ‘Flying Kiss’ celebration after dismissing Mayank Agarwal. Once again, he has been fined for a similar action he did during the KKR Vs DC match after dismissing Abhishek Porel.
IPL 2024 Codes Breached
After dismissing Porel, Rana was doing his flying kiss celebration once again. But after remembering the fine, he stopped in the middle of the celebration. He did not stop his celebration but rather gestured his hand towards the dugout.
For this, the IPL board has found Rana guilty of breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. He has been fined 100% of his match fees and has been served a one-match ban. Which means that he will miss the clash against Mumbai Indians on May 3.
The Board released a statement stating “Rana committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offense and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding. The player was earlier penalized under the same level and article of the IPL Code of Conduct.”
Charges Accepted
It is to be noted that the player has accepted the charges and won’t be appealing against the decision taken by the board. This means that Kolkata will be without their ace spinner against the Hardik Pandya side.
