IPL 2024: Jos Buttler Most Impactful Opener Of Tournament? How Will His Absence Impact Rajasthan Royals Quest

IPL 2024

Jos Buttler has left Rajasthan Royals side for the remaining of IPL 2024 and this is a huge loss for the team in the final weeks.

IPL 2024: With the England squad leaving for the preparation of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, many IPL teams will be without their English players for the final weeks of the tournament.

Many English players are an integral part of these teams and are essential in their success so far this season. Players like Will Jacks and Moeen Ali were important parts of their teams and both RCB and CSK will miss them.

Phil Salt completely changed the KKR side from last season and it will be tough for them in the knockout stages without him. But no other team has suffered this loss more than Rajasthan Royals as they will miss their talisman Jos Buttler in the final weeks.

Talisman Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler has been a match-winner for the Rajasthan squad this season. He is one of the main reasons that Rajasthan is still in the top 2 of IPL 2024 so far. He single-handedly has won them 4 points over the course of the season.

The English skipper has accumulated 359 runs in this tournament with 2 centuries so far. Both these centuries came in winning scenarios when the Royals were chasing. The first was against RCB when RR chased down 189 runs.

The second century became one of the best innings we have ever seen in IPL history. He single-handedly helped his team chase down 224 against KKR when everything was looking completely lost.

IPL 2024: Tough Replacement

While KKR has a direct replacement for Salt in the form of Gurbaaz, RR does not have a player like Jos Buttler. Royals needed their talisman most in this final phase of the tournament because even while still being in the top 2, their qualification is still not guaranteed.

It will be tough for the Royals to cope with the loss of one of the best white ball players ever. On top of that, the Royals are in pretty bad form as they have lost their last 3 matches.
