IPL 2024 KKR vs PBKS: Kolkata was on fire in the first inning. After scoring 261, their second-highest total ever, it looked like the victory was almost guaranteed. But the Punjab Kings had other ideas.
Prabhsimran Singh and Jonny Bairstow took matters into their own hands and started a record-breaking Powerplay display to keep the match alive. Especially Prabhsimran who was sensational in Powerplay.

IPL 2024, KKR vs PBKS: Record-Breaking Powerplay
After an emphatic display by Sunil Narine and Phil Salt, Punjab openers replied with even more grit and determination. The pair of Bairstow and Prabhsimran scored 93 runs in the powerplay only.
Prabhsimran got run out at the end of the powerplay, but Riley Rossow took the baton from him and continued the hitting. On the other hand, Bairstow played one of the best knocks ever and completed his century in just 45 deliveries.
Sensational Shashank
When it all looked lost for Kolkata, Narine came back and struck Rossouw out, getting them back in the game. But after that, it was a Shashank Show. The batsman has been a find for Punjab in IPL 2024 and he delivered again.
He was in such a form that he made this target look easy. Shashank scored 68 runs in just 28 deliveries with 8 sixes to his name. It was such good hitting that Centurion was only able to score 15 runs in their 84-run partnership.
It was a record-breaking chase in every T20 and PBKS finished the chase in just 18.4 overs. After being benched for a few matches it was a perfect reply by Bairstow to everyone doubting him.
