IPL 2024 KKR vs SRH Final: After stopping Hyderabad for a sub-par total, it looks like Kolkata is in a hurry to finish the match. And Venkatesh Iyer has been the focal point of this blistering chase.
Sunil Narine got out early in the match and Venky was sent ahead of the skipper Shreyas Iyer. And he instantly started hitting the ball out of the park. Bhuvenshwar Kumar and T.Natrajan are his main victims.
On the other hand, Rahmahnullah Gurbaz has been playing the anchor role. He is making sure that KKR does not lose wickets, which makes this easy chase difficult in any way at all.
The Venky Storm
Venkatesh Iyer came onto bat in the 3rd over and hit a boundary on his first delivery. He was not satisfied as he smashed Bhuvaneshwar for 2 consecutive sixes right after that boundary.
T.Natrajan became his next victim when he smashed 20 runs in his next over. A six and three boundary against Natrajan was enough for Cummins to remove him from the bowling attack.
Even in this small chase, he scored his half-century in just 24 deliveries with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. It was a blistering inning, that made this chase far more easier for KKR.
IPL 2024 KKR vs SRH Final: A Record To Forget
While batting first, SRH was only able to score 113 runs, which is the lowest score by any team in the IPL final. Previously, Chennai Super Kings held the record for the lowest total in the IPL final when they scored only 125/9 against Mumbai Indians in 2013.
