IPL 2024 KKR Vs SRH Qualifier 1: Rahul Tripathi was batting sensationally in the first qualifier when he got out in a very silly fashion. It was heartbreaking for the batsman as he has made an epic comeback this season.
Tripathi has been unlucky for the past few seasons. He was dropped from the Indian team even after performing amazingly. After that, he had to be dropped from IPL 2024 because of an injury.
But ever since he made his comeback for SRH, he has been on fire. Few decent cameos here and there followed by a brilliant half-century in Qualifier 1. But once again, luck was not on his side as he was left stranded in the middle of a pitch for a heartbreaking run out.
Heartbreaking End!
Even as wickets were falling down constantly from one side, Tripathi was keeping the scorecard ticking. He was at 55 runs in just 35 deliveries. However, a miscommunication with Abdul Samad resulted in a runout.
As Samad cut the ball towards the point fielder, he ran straight for a single. Andre Russell stopped the ball brilliantly on the edge of the circle and Tripathi instantly denied the single. But Samad was caught ball-watching and did not stop.
Tripathi had no choice but to watch Gurbaaz collecting the ball and running him out while he was in the middle of the pitch. The run out left him heartbroken as it was finally his night after so long.
Tripathi was distraught after the runout and was spotted on the stairs to the dressing room. He was almost on the verge of crying and his passion was completely visible by everyone. Incidents like these really show how much it means to the players.
IPL 2024 KKR Vs SRH Qualifier 1: Cummins Fightback
After Tripathi fought back against the KKR’s ruthless bowling, Cummins took it forward after him. Once again the wickets kept falling down from one end, but skipper Pat Cummins played a sensible inning to let Hyderbad score a decent score.
Cummins scored 30 runs in 24 deliveries and dragged SRH to a score of 159 runs giving KKR a decent target.
