IPL 2024 MI Vs LSG: It is true that when Nicholas Pooran gets going, no one can stop him. Mumbai Indians faced the wrath of Pooran firsthand on Thursday when Pooran completely dismantled their bowling attack.
Mumbai was in control of the match as LSG was only able to make 69 runs in the first 10 overs. That is when Pooran decided to take over. It was all about him in the middle over and Mumbai looked clueless against him.
LSG added 145 runs in the last 10 overs and it was all because of Pooran only. LSG finished their inning at 214 runs, giving Mumbai a mammoth chase in the second innings.
IPL 2024 MI Vs LSG: The Pooran Show
Pooran started hitting from the very first delivery as he knew what his team needed from him. He steadily increased his strike rate without taking any risks for the first 10 deliveries and then he took off.
2 sixes against Hardik Pandya were followed by 3 consecutive sixes against Anshul Kamboj. After that, he took Arjun Tendulkar apart and hit two sixes against him in one over.
Pooran got out in the 17th over but by then he had completed his job. A sensational inning of 75 runs included 5 boundaries and 8 sixes in this destructive inning.
A New Record!
Pooran has hit 36 sixes in just 14 IPL 2024 matches. Not only that, he has also hit the most sixes in T20 cricket in 2024. He has not hit 77 sixes in 32 matches in 2024 and took down Henrich Klassen who is in second position with 69 sixes in 2024.
We can expect the same destruction from these two in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 as well. They might even touch the 100-six mark in the tournament considering Klassen will play at least 3 more matches in this IPL only.
