IPL 2024 RCB Vs CSK: A perfect start for Royal Challengers Bangalore and a nightmare for Chennai Super Kings as Ruturah Gaikwad got out on the first delivery. Things could not have gone any worse for the defending champions.
After scoring a competitive total of 218 runs and giving CSK the target of 201 to qualify, RCB strikes with the ball early as well. The ball was gripping for the spinners in the first over and RCB took advantage of that.
The CSK skipper could not believe his luck as it had become a match to forget. CSK still has a batting depth that can chase the target but they have looked lacklustre in this IPL 2024 so far.
Gone For A Duck
Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad tool the crease to chase down the target. They needed an explosive start. The CSK skipper knew that and that is why he wanted to take an aggressive route from the first delivery.
A half-pitch delivery by Maxwell lit up Gaikwad’s eyes. He set his foot apart and tried to pull the ball over third man for a boundary. He got unlucky as the ball gripped the pitch and turned humongous.
The ball hit the sticker of the bat and Yash Dayal took a sitter on short third-man. The whole Banglore camp celebrated with joy as they knew what this wicket meant for the match. Gaikwad has been CSK’s top scorer.
IPL 2024 RCB Vs CSK: Nightmare Continues
The nightmare continued for CSK as even Daryl Mitchell got out cheaply. Mitchell tried to hit Yash Dayal out of the park, but could not connect the ball. The ball went high towards the mid-off and Virat Kohli took an easy catch to increase the stronghold of RCB in this do-or-die match.
