IPL 2024 SRH Vs PBKS: It has been an underwhelming season for Punjab so far in terms of results. But what this season has done for them is give them hope for the future after a very long time.
PBKS might be stuck at the bottom of the table but for the first time in forever, they can plan for the future. With injuries to their main players, they were forced to give chances to various youngsters.
And those young players rise to the occasion in an emphatic fashion. They had already found stars like Shashank Singh, Ashutosh Sharma, Jitesh Sharma, and Prabhsimran Singh. Now they can add another youngster to that list with the name Atharva Taide.
A Hope For The Future
PBKS had a tough choice in their final group stage match as every English player had gone back for international duty. In trouble, PBKS went to their Indian core and played 10 Indian players.
Atharva Taide opened the innings alongside Prabhsimran Singh and made full use of the opportunity. He was given only one more chance this season and was dropped for unknown reasons.
But he made sure that everyone took notice of him and didn’t forget him again. A brilliant inning of 47 runs in just 27 deliveries gave PBKS a perfect start. Taide missed his half-century by just 3 runs but gave everyone a demo of what everyone can expect from him in the future.

Atharva Taide, Prabhsimran Singh, and Riley Russow made sure that PBKS ended their innings strong in their last match of the season. Jitesh Sharma provided the much needed finish and allowed Punjab to touch 214 runs in 20 overs.
