BCCI and the IPL 2025 mega auction saga has a new twist as the Indian cricket board might be bending towards franchise owners' demands.

IPL 2025: It looks like even BCCI does not want MS Dhoni to hang up his boots yet. Even they want him to play one more season and show what kind of a spectacle it is when he plays.

In the past few years, we have seen fans thinking about Dhoni and his retirement quite a few times. But the form he showed us last time was not the form of a player who was struggling.

He was hitting Sixes for fun and was back in his old role of that demon finisher. It was also revealed that he was not at his 100% but now after a few surgeries it is looking like he is completely fit and that kind of Dhoni is scary for everyone.

More Retentions

Earlier it was revealed that many franchises expressed their unhappiness about the mega auction at the meeting between the IPL and the BCCI on July 31. They wanted more retentions than four.

On one hand, BCCI has made it clear that mega auction is not going anywhere, they have also increased the retentions. Instead of the usual four, the teams can now retain up to six players but there is a twist.

A team can retain up to six players as the Right To Match(RTM) might be making its return. According to the sources, a team can directly retain up to four players and two via their RTM Card.

IPL 2025: Thala Show?

Earlier former CSK skipper was very clear about his future in the IPL 2025. He stated that it directly depends on the rules of the auction. Many sources also revealed that CSK will only retain Dhoni if there are more than four retentions available.

Dhoni stated “There is a lot of time for it. We have to see what decision they take on player retention etc. Right now, the ball is not in our court. So, once the rules and regulations get formalized, I will take a call, but needs to be in the best interest of the team.”
