IPL Viral Video: Indian Premier League is just into the second week of the tournament and we have already witnessed several classical and entertaining matches. Continuing the spree yesterday, Delhi Capitals’ bowler Mukesh Kumar delivered a fantastic over that pulled back his team back into the game after early setbacks.
Mukesh throws a stunning over
The over came during the 16th match of the IPL 2023, which took place between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. The host team did not have a splendid batting but ended up scoring 172 runs in their innings with a quickfire 54 off 25 balls knock from Axar Patel.
Opener Rohit Sharma (65 off 45) and Ishan Kishan (31 off 26) gave a fiery start to Mumbai Indians. However, after a blazing start,the run rate became slower. After the 15 overs, their score was 123/1. Mukesh Kumar then came into bowl just his second over of the match. Tilak Verma was batting during that time with a score of 25 off 24 balls.
Tilak had to bring up the pace as MI required 50 runs off 5 overs. He began his assault by hammering 4,6,6 on the first three balls of the over, bringing in the much needed 14 runs in just three balls. However, what happened later was truly remarkable. The next ball went fora dot. On the fourth ball, Mukesh delievred a fuller-length and Tilak shoved it off to deep mid-wicket and was caught out by Manish Pandey, resulting in a stunning comeback by Mukesh.
On the final ball of the over, Mukesh threw a short length ball to star batter Suryakumar Yadav. The batter couldn’t time it correctly and was caught out by Kuldeep Yadav at fine-leg, marking his fourth golden duck in last six innings.

However, despite a brilliant comeback in his over, the 14 runs in the start didn’t fit well. Mumbai Indians eventually won the match by six wickets on last-ball. It was the first ever victory for MI this season while fourth consecutive defeat for DC.
