IPL Viral Video: Lucknow Super Giants came tantalizingly close to achieving the feat of hitting six sixes in an over, creating a breathtaking spectacle during an IPL 2023 match. The incredible sequence of events unfolded as Marcus Stoinis smashed two consecutive sixes before being dismissed, followed by Nicholas Pooran who blazed his way with an exceptional display, hitting three successive sixes.
Pooran and Stoinis’ carnage
Abhishek Sharma’s over, which included a wide, turned out to be the most expensive in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when it comes to runs conceded with a wicket. At the start of that over, LSG appeared to be in a difficult position, requiring almost 14 runs per over in the final five overs. However, within the span of just six balls, the situation dramatically shifted, and LSG became the clear favourite. Before the start of the over, LSG required 69 runs from 30 balls.
The carnage began with Stoinis, who smashed colossal sixes measuring 100m and 110m, sending them soaring into the stands. It seemed like he was about to achieve a hat-trick of sixes, but unfortunately, he found the fielder stationed on the long-off boundary. This brought Pooran to the batting crease, and he commenced his innings with a massive 105m hit. He continued the onslaught with two additional sixes, although the exact distance covered by these shots was not mentioned during the broadcast. Nevertheless, they contributed the same number of runs on the scoreboard.

In the final over, Pooran remained unbeaten on 44 runs as LSG comfortably sealed the victory by seven wickets.
