IPL Viral Video: During the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali, a comical incident occurred when Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell were seen playing the game of “rock-paper-scissors” during the game.
Kohli & Maxwell’s comical moment
During the 11th over of the PBKS innings, an incident occurred involving the Decision Review System (DRS). The on-field umpire had initially given Jitesh Sharma out after he was struck in front of the stumps by a low dipping full-toss from Harshal Patel. However, the PBKS wicketkeeper opted to challenge the decision, prompting a review of the on-field call.
While the review was taking place and all the other players had their attention fixed on the big screen, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell opted to amuse themselves by playing a game. The RCB captain, who was filling in for the regular skipper, and the accomplished Australian all-rounder’s amusing pastime was captured on camera and quickly became a sensation on social media. Glenn later took to twitter and stated how Virat always does paper. See his reply below.

Speaking of the game, RCB notched their third victory of the season with a convincing 24-run triumph. With Faf du Plessis unavailable due to injury, Kohli took on the captaincy for the first time in 18 months. After PBKS won the toss and opted to field first, RCB amassed a total of 174 runs. Both Kohli and Faf reached half-centuries during an impressive 137-run opening partnership. Kohli made a 69 off 47 balls, while Faf hammered 84 runs off just 56 deliveries.
Mohammed Siraj was the standout bowler for RCB, recording the best IPL figures of his career to keep PBKS behind the required run rate from the outset. Siraj claimed four wickets as PBKS were dismissed for 150. While Prabhsimran’s brisk 46 off 30 balls and Jitesh Sharma’s 41 off 27 balls provided some resistance, no other Kings’ batsman was able to stay at the crease for an extended period.
