IPL Viral Video: In the Indian Premier League, it’s common to see players making spectacular efforts in the field, but when the team captain executes a brilliant catch, it adds an extra special touch. This was the case in the match between Lucknow and Punjab, where KL Rahul’s full-length dive to his left resulted in an outstanding catch, giving a major breakthrough and boosting the team’s hopes. However, PBKS later won the match by two wickets and defeated LSG at home.
KL Rahul’s brilliant dive
The match was a low-scoring affair with LSG putting out only 159/8 in 20 overs, thanks to skipper KL Rahul’s valiant 74. During the 16th over of the match, Mark Wood delivered a full ball to Jitesh Sharma, who tried to drive but ended up slicing the ball slightly wide of mid-off. Fortunately, Lucknow Super Giants’ captain, Rahul, was alert and quickly moved towards his left before diving in the air to make a remarkable catch.
His incredible athleticism earned him a lot of appreciation from social media users who praised his exceptional fielding skills. Jitesh Sharma was dismissed for 2 runs from 4 balls. The video of the dismissal was posted by the official handle of Indian Premier League and has been going immensely viral since then.

Lucknow Super Giants tried hard to defend the low-score total but failed to do so as PBKS batter Sikandar Raza played a match-winning knock of 57 in 41 balls. In the end, Shah Rukh Khan played a small cameo of 23* in 10 balls and took his team across the boundary line, resulting in LSG’s first defeat at home.
