IPL Viral Video: In yesterday’s IPL 2023 match, Rahul Tewatia once again displayed his expertise in late-innings batting, injecting much-needed energy into the struggling Gujarat Titans’ chase. His exceptional feat of hitting three consecutive sixes against Anrich Nortje of the Delhi Capitals added excitement and momentum to the game. However, DC eventually won the match by 5 runs on last ball as Tewatia was dismissed after his fireworks.

Rahul Tewatia hits a hattrick of sixes

Prior to the flurry of sixes, the Gujarat Titans faced a challenging equation of requiring 30 runs from the final nine deliveries. Considering the dominance of the bowlers throughout the match, this task seemed highly daunting, even with the presence of Hardik Pandya and Tewatia at the crease. However, the tide shifted when Tewatia fearlessly confronted Anrich Nortje’s rapid pace. Unfazed by the South African’s bowling, Tewatia smashed three consecutive sixes, rejuvenating the match and breathing new life into the Titans’ chase.

The opening delivery was a low full-toss aimed at the leg side. Tewatia swiftly dropped to one knee and skillfully dispatched it over deep square leg, showcasing his trademark shot to initiate the onslaught. Undeterred by the challenge, the following ball, which was a full delivery, met the same fate as Tewatia confidently smashed it over the long-on boundary, achieving two consecutive sixes. Nortje faltered once more with his length, committing the same mistake by delivering another full toss instead of a yorker. Tewatia capitalized on this opportunity, striking the ball with great power towards the cow corner. As a result, the equation suddenly narrowed down to requiring 12 runs from the last over.

Ishant Sharma remained composed, conceding only six runs and dismissing Tewatia to neutralize the late assault. Rilee Rossouw made a stunning one-handed save off the penultimate ball, diving full length to prevent a couple of runs from a powerful Rashid Khan strike, saving his team, and eventually winning the match by 5 runs.
