The bowlers of Delhi Capitals (DC) faced a severe onslaught from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as they conceded a massive total of 197-6. Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen exhibited explosive batting by scoring impressive half-centuries and adopting an aggressive mindset. Despite his previous disappointing performance against SRH, where he got dismissed on the first ball, Philip Salt was given another opportunity by DC’s management.
During the game, Delhi Capitals (DC) reached the 100-run mark in 9.2 overs while steadily approaching their target with 9 wickets still in hand. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Aiden Markram made frequent bowling changes but struggled to break the threatening partnership. Surprisingly, the pitch did not deteriorate as anticipated. Mayank Markande proved to be highly economical, conceding only 14 runs in his 2 overs.
By the end of the 11th over, DC’s score had reached 111-1. Markande was in the midst of his third over, and on the second delivery, he bowled a slightly short delivery outside the off-stump. Philip Salt attempted to play the shot past the bowler, but Markande displayed exceptional reflexes and took a stunning catch.
