IPL Viral Video: In yesterday’s IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Yashasvi Jaiswal displayed awe-inspiring power-hitting in the opening over of Rajasthan Royals’ innings, leaving Nitish Rana astounded.
Yahsasvi Jaiswal’s record-breaking first over
Kolkata Knight Riders, after being asked to bat first, could only muster a modest total of 149 for 8 within the designated 20 overs. With the exception of Venkatesh Iyer, who scored 57, the rest of the batsmen failed to impress on their home ground. Yuzvendra Chahal, the leading spin bowler for Rajasthan Royals, stood out by taking 4 wickets for 25 runs.
After posting a modest total of 149, Kolkata Knight Riders were in need of a strong start with the ball, prompting their captain Nitish Rana to take matters into his own hands. While Rana, a left-handed batsman, possesses skills as a useful spinner, his bowling abilities are not particularly renowned.
Jaiswal initiated his onslaught by launching the first two deliveries of the over for sixes. The following two balls were struck for fours, followed by the left-handed batsman accumulating a couple of runs on the fifth delivery. Ultimately, on the last ball of the over, Jaiswal hammered Rana for another four, granting his team a sensational start.

Unfortunately, Rana’s choice to commence the bowling against one of the IPL’s most impressive batsmen turned out to be a disastrous decision. Perhaps relying on the advantage of Jaiswal being a left-handed batsman, the Kolkata Knight Riders captain hoped for a favorable outcome. However, Jaiswal, who was in exceptional form, completely overwhelmed Rana. The Rajasthan Royals opener provided a phenomenal start for his team, annihilating Nitish Rana by scoring 26 runs in the very first over.
