Virat Kohli: In a recent podcast with BeerBiceps, Ishant Sharma recalled the darkest phase of Viral Kohli’s career and how the former Indian captain drove past adversity. Ishant Sharma also talked about the major transformation Virat has gone through in his career.
The medium pacer revealed that Kohli has gone through every phase in his career. From a party-loving kid to a tattoo enthusiast and finally to a fitness freak and a top performer. Ishant has been with Kohli in every phase.
Death of his Father
Ishant Sharma revealed that Kohli was alone and was only 17 years old when his father passed away. He was sad, and no one knew how he would react. But Kohli went to batting and won his team the game singlehandedly.
This inning was a testament to what was to come in the future. Ishant also accepted that if something like this would have happened to him, he would not have stepped into the ground.
“The day Virat Kohli’s father passed away, he was alone & sad, didn’t knew how to react but then he batted & won the game when he was just 17 years – till today I don’t understand how, if that happens to me, I would not have been gone to ground.” stated the medium pacer.

Virat Kohli Massive transformation
Ishant Sharma also stated that Kohli has made a massive transformation in his life. The right-handed batsman used to love parties. The medium pacer revealed that before a tournament match in Kolkata, Virat partied the whole night and then went and scored 250 the next morning.
He also stated that he had never seen Virat cry but was distraught when his father died and still played like a warrior. Ishant also revealed that he has only seen Kohli eating Chole Bhature twice in 15 years, even though how much he loves the dish.
“I have never seen him cry, but I know that he was saddest when his father expired. We were playing a Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka. He was batting overnight, and he used always pick me for the match”. The former Indian pace leader stated.
