Italian Open: Novak Djokovic shows a quite decent character in the opening game

Top ranking Serbian player Novak Djokovic showed a quite decent character in his first match of the Italian Open on Wednesday after being unceremoniously eliminated at the US Open. He scored an easy 6-3 6-2 win over local wild card holder Salvatore Caruso in the opening round of the Italian Open and during this time he was seen to be courteous to the ‘Chair Umpire’ most of the time.

In the first set, when the umpire came to see the mark of the ball on the red gravel and did it in favor of Caruso, Djokovic merely replied, ‘Yes’ and erased the mark with his red shoes.

When Caruso impressed him with his performance, Djokovic said, “Fantastic.” On Monday, Djokovic said that he was out of the US Open 10 days ago due to an unintentional ‘line judge’ hitting the throat. He learned a ‘big lesson’ after from the incident.
