Despite the initial worry, Bumrah took only a brief pause and resumed his over. Additionally, he decided to change his shoes during the second over of the innings.
During his second over, Bumrah delivered a remarkable delivery that induced an edge from Patthum Nissanka’s bat, resulting in an early wicket for India as they defended their modest target in Colombo. The 27-year-old paceman made a comeback to competitive cricket last month during the Ireland tour following an extended period of injury. He had been sidelined due to a back injury, causing him to miss several significant events, including last year’s T20 World Cup, this year’s IPL, the World Test Championship Final, and various bilateral series.
