Another achievement has been added to India’s star golfer Jeev Milkha Singh. He has become the first professional golfer in the world to receive a Dubai Golden Visa. Jeev Milkha has been given the prestigious Dubai Golden Visa for 10 years in recognition of his stupendous achievements in the sport.
Jeev has a long association with Dubai. He has participated and won many tournaments here, he has many friends in this city. “I am honored that the Government of Dubai has considered my name for the Golden Visa and I look forward to creating more special memories here,” Jeev said in the release.
The 49-year-old, who has won four titles on the European Tour, four on the Japan Golf Tour and six on the Asian Tour, has been given a 10-year ‘gold card’ for being an elite professional player. Jeev said, ‘It is a great honor. I think I first came to Dubai in 1993 and enjoyed every moment I spent here.
The UAE government introduced the Golden Visa in 2019 for which investors (minimum 10 million UAE darham), industrialists as well as professionals, experts in fields such as science and sports can apply.
Before Milkha, the players who have been given Golden Visa by Dubai include footballers Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo and Romelu Lokaku, tennis superstar Novak Djokovic, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her husband Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. Bollywood stars Shahrukh Khan and Sanjay Dutt have also got this visa.
