But his most impressive achievement occurred on April 6 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, when he hit the quickest fifty of the competition.
Thakur matched Jos Buttler’s record
As KKR struggled to 87 for 5 in 11.4 overs, Thakur entered the batting order at number seven. He lost no time in launching a counterattack on the RCB bowlers, scoring 51 runs in only 20 balls while hitting seven fours and two sixes. With a six off Harshal Patel over long-on, he scored his fifty-first run in impressive fashion. He matched Jos Buttler’s record, who had earlier in the season struck a fifty off 20 balls for Rajasthan Royals against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
