KL Rahul, ahead of his comeback in the Asia Cup 2023, expressed his appreciation for the support and treatment he received from the staff at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Having successfully cleared all fitness tests, he is now fully prepared to participate in the Asia Cup’s Super Four stage.

Midway through this year’s Indian Premier League, Rahul sustained a thigh injury and underwent surgery as part of his treatment. Subsequently, the wicketkeeper-batter took a rehabilitation program at the NCA with the aim of regaining fitness ahead of the upcoming World Cup hosted in India, strengthening India’s middle order.
Rahul described his journey as filled with challenges and valuable lessons. “Reflecting on my journey in the last few months, which has been filled with challenges and lessons. The road has been humbling. A big shoutout to Nitin sir ,Yogesh sir, Rajini sir, Dhananjay Bhai, Shalini and everyone at the NCA for your efforts and commitment towards getting me back on the ground.”

KL Rahul’s comeback to the Indian team for the Asia Cup 2023 saw him remaining at the NCA instead of traveling with the squad to Sri Lanka. BCCI Chairman of Selectors, Ajit Agarkar, reassured that Rahul had a minor injury, which occurred just before the tournament, and there were no significant concerns.
