Kuldeep Sen: Hailing from Madhya Pradesh, Kuldeep, made his ODI debut against Bangladesh on Sunday at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka (December 4). Sen, who is from a small town in MP’s Rewa, was an unexpected success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.
The Rajasthan Royals signed 26-year-old Kuldeep Sen, who displayed his speed and precision in the opportunities that presented itself. He was noticed by the selectors because of his few IPL games. While Sen now plays cricket for India on the international stage, playing for India was not a realistic aspiration for a youngster born in an small town with no support system.
Kuldeep Sen hails from a poor family
Sen was born into a poor family, and his father used to make barely enough money from his little barbershop. Sen and his four siblings were forced to make living on the meagre family income. Not much was left, and there was never even enough for him to buy the right tools. Aril Anthony, Sen’s childhood coach, was the one who noticed the promise Sen had displayed.
When Anthony learned about the poor financial situation at Sen’s home, he made the decision not to charge Sen any money for the young fast bowler’s training. Additionally, he looked after the boy’s nourishment and provided him with cricket equipment.
Anthony improved Kuldeep’s action, which at first had issues. Kuldeep’s coach reportedly remarked that the young fast bowler was sent for tryouts when the timing was appropriate.
Kuldeep played Ranji for four years
In 2018, he made an outstanding debut for MP in the Ranji Trophy, taking 25 wickets in 8 games. He had to play domestic cricket for a further four years before landing an IPL deal. Kuldeep Sen was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals in 2022 for Rs 2,000,000.
He had a spectacular debut, participated in 7 games for RR in the IPL 2022, and claimed 8 wickets. He had his best IPl performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore, picking up 4 wickets. Kuldeep finally made his Team India debut a few months later.
