India Vs Pakistan clash is always a major event no matter what the event is. In recent years, these two sworn rivals have only faced each other in ICC tournaments and their matches have become exclusive.
Because of that, these teams face each other only once or twice per year and fans are always excited to see this match. That is why the anticipation of these matches are always sky high.
And because of that organisers sometimes set the prices high and even then it gets sold out. Expectedly the New York ground where these two teams will face each other in T20 World Cup has been sold out at $20,000 and former IPL chairman Lalit Modi showed his concerns over the matter.
Shocked!
Lalit Modi took to X to showcase his concern and anger over the prices of the tickets. The former BCCI member slammed ICC for setting the price at $20000(Rs.16.6 lakh) and stated that cricket won’t expand like this.
He tweeted that organising World Cup in America was to expand the cricket in nations that have less exposition to the game. And prices like these won’t help in that and it is not cricket but a business.
The caption read “is selling tickets for Diamond Club at $20000 per seat for the #indvspak WC game. The WC in the US is for game expansion & fan engagement, not a means to make profits on gate collections. $2750 for a ticket It’s just #notcricket #intlcouncilofcrooks.”
