If you are going to bow out of a tournament, this is the way to do it. It was an emotional day at the Barbados as India won their second T20i World Cup with Virat Kohli as the Man Of The Match.

This match broke the curse of 10 years when India was not able to win any major ICC trophy. It was a beautiful sight with everyone in tears. Both the winning and losing sides were in tears.

That is when Virat Kohli announced something that shocked everyone to the core. A happy moment was somehow turned into a mellowed one, but everyone understood where Kohli was coming from.

Last T20 Game For Virat Kohli!

The man who saved his best for the last could not have asked for a better ending to his T20i career. Even after an underwhelming tournament, he was there when India needed him the most.

A sensational half-century allowed India to score a par total that they defended in one of the most chaotic matches of the tournament. Kohli got the Man Of The Man deservedly for his beautiful knock.

But it was his announcement after the match that took the headlines, as the great stated that this was his last T20i match for India.

‘New Generation’s Time’

Kohli stated “This was my last T20 World Cup, this is exactly what we wanted to achieve. One day you feel like you can’t get a run and this happens, God is great. (It is) just the occasion, now or never kind of situation.

This was my last T20 game playing for India. We wanted to lift that cup. this was an open secret. Not something that I wasn’t going to announce even if we had lost. Time for the next generation to take the T20 game forward.”
