Pant had a car accident last year when he was driving to his hometown of Roorkee in Uttarakhand. He was alone in the car and reportedely fell asleep while driving. This caused his Mercedes car to crash into a road barrier on the highway. The crash was so bad that his car flipped over and caught fire. He somehow managed to escape from the car by breaking the window and taking help from locals.
