FIFA World Cup 2022: Argentina won the FIFA World Cup for a record-tying third time thanks to Lionel Messi’s outstanding play in a tight final against the reigning champions, France. Messi assisted his team in defeating the Les Bleus, who resisted giving up despite trailing 0-2 at the half. Messi scored twice in the championship game and even converted his penalty in the shootout.

Lionel Messi gets on the table and celebrates
Although Kylian Mbappe scored in both the penalty shootout and the World Cup final, he was unable to prevent Lionel Messi from becoming the second player in history to win the World Cup and achieving immortality.
After the win, Messi was pleased and joined his teammates in the celebration. One video of Messi dancing while holding the World Cup trophy on a table inside the locker room has gone viral. The video is being rapidly shared by fans through various social media handles on different platforms. The joy on Messi’s face after fulfilling his life-long dream is evident as he dances on the table.

Mbappe scored 8 goals for France, one more than Messi, who finished the tournament with 7 goals. With his 26th World Cup participation on Sunday night, he broke the record for most appearances at a tournament, and he now has 13 goals overall.
He was also given the Golden Ball, which is given to the “Player of the Tournament,” and as such became the first player to do so. He previously won the award in 2014 when Argentina lost to Germany in the final.
