The World Cup winner has created quite a stir in the USA since joining Inter Miami as his new club. The celebrities are turning to the ground as fanboys and fangirls of Messi. This resulted in the first sell-out crowd of the season for Inter Miami.
The Messi craze reached its peak during his MLS debut and he did not even start the match. 26,276 fans attended the match with stars like French Montana also in attendance and cheering for the Argentine.
Lionel Messi Owns The Streets
During the MLS match between Inter Miami and New York Red Bulls, Messi entered the pitch in the 60th minute and did not leave New York without a goal. The crowd erupted in pure ecstasy as ear-deafening cheers took over the ground.
But the stadium was not the only place where fans enjoyed the goal. The match was being live telecasted in Times Square on a giant billboard. Fans blocked the streets as everyone was watching the Talisman doing his magic.
The crowd erupted as Lionel Messi scored even though it was their own team that conceded. New York looked like the home ground for Miami as there were only cheers and shouting after the goal.

It was not like the noise began only after the goal, it was constant throughout the match. The World Cup winner did not start the match, the crowd started chanting “We Want Messi.” Even New York fans were taking part in the chanting.
