Lionel Messi: The BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, received a signed jersey from Lionel Messi after the Argentine star won the FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy. The 35-year-old helped his team earn a decisive 4-2 victory on penalties by tallying two goals in the game’s final during regular time and an additional penalty in the shootout (3-3 after extra time).

Celebrations erupted following Messi and Argentina’s victory, and not just there; they spread across the world. Argentina’s third World Cup victory was celebrated extravagantly by people even in India. Messi, a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, sent a signed jersey to Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), despite the fact that there is no doubting his enormous fan base in India.
While holding the autographed Messi jersey, Pragyan Ojha, the representative of the Indian Cricketers Association on the governing council, posted a photo of himself and Jay Shah together. Ojha captioned the photo, “#GOAT sends his best wishes & signed match jersey for jay bhai! What a humble personality. Hopefully I will get one for myself…. Soon.”

Lionel Messi wins his first-ever World Cup
Only the FIFA World Cup trophy was needed to complete Messi’s resume, who has already won nearly everything that his sport comrises of. The Argentine helped La Albiceleste advance all the way in Qatar’s FIFA World Cup, his fifth overall. He scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists.
For the second time in his career, Messi received the Golden Ball after being named the tournament’s player of the year. Messi was magnificent on the night of the championship game, scoring twice for Argentina and then converting his penalty in the shootout after Kylian Mbappe’s hat-trick extended the game past the end of extra time.
