Lionel Messi: Following two years with the organisation, Lionel Messi will depart Paris Saint-Germain, head coach Christophe Galtier announced on Thursday. PSG Coach Praises the Best Player in Football History
Before PSG’s final Ligue 1 match of the year against Clermont Foot, Galter said at a press conference: “I had the honour of teaching the best player in football history. I hope he will be welcomed with open arms because this will be his final game at the Parc des Princes. He has contributed significantly to the team this year and has always been available. None of the remarks or criticisms, in my opinion, are warranted. He has consistently stood with the team. It has been an enormous honour to travel with him this season. For PSG this season, Messi has contributed 21 goals and 20 assists across all competitions.

Messi’s Impact at PSG and Achievements Beyond the Club
Messi left Barcelona in 2021 due to the club’s financial troubles, and he later signed with the French champions. He assisted PSG in both of his seasons in the French capital in winning the Ligue 1 championships alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. However, the club’s quest for its first European championship is still ongoing as a result of back-to-back round-of-16 Champions League exits. In 74 games across all competitions with PSG, he recorded 32 goals and 35 assists. During his time in Paris, Messi also accomplished other things. He finally received the one major honour that had escaped him throughout his career in December, as he guided Argentina to victory in the 2023 World Cup. His second win of the award, which he added to his record-tying seven Ballon d’Or medals, came in February at The Best FIFA Football Awards, where he was voted men’s footballer of the year.
