LSG vs CSK IPL 2023: The highly anticipated match between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow has been called off due to rains. Both the teams have been awarded with a point each. The toss itself was delayed by 15 minutes and match began at 3:45 PM. LSG played for 19.2 overs but since the rain got heavier, covers were brought in and when the rain didn’t stop until 7 PM, the match was called off.
LSG’s top order flattered
This marks only the second occurrence of a ‘No Result’ in the history of the IPL, excluding matches held in Bengaluru. The initial incident took place in Delhi back in 2011, during a clash between the Delhi Daredevils and the Pune Warriors India.
Earlier, MS Dhoni led CSK won the toss and opt to bowl first in the match. Just like the last match, the pitch assisted the bowlers in this one too. Manan Vohra scored 10 off 11, Kyle Mayers scored 14 and Karan Sharma scored 9. Skipper Krunal Pandya was dismissed for a golden duck in the match. Marcus Stoinis could not live up to the expectation as well as he was dismissed for a score of 6 runs off 4 balls.
Ayush Badoni leads the charge
Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni steadied the ship and took control of the innings. Nicholas scored 20 off 31, while Ayush Badoni led the charge and scored 59 runs off 33 balls, hitting 2 boundaries and four maximums. K Gowtham was dismissed for 1 and just after his wicket match was stopped as rains started heavier in the 19.2 overs. Moeen, Theekshana, and Pathirana picked a couple of wickets each while Jadeja also grabbed one.
