Rahul’s other impressive achievements in the IPL include being the second-fastest batter to score 3000 runs (in 80 innings), following Gayle. Additionally, he is also the fastest Indian player to score 2000 runs in the IPL, achieving this feat in 60 innings during the 2020 season, surpassing the previous record holder, Sachin Tendulkar, who did so in 63 innings. In addition to his other accomplishments in the IPL, KL Rahul has also achieved the feat of scoring 2000 runs as captain, having led Punjab for two seasons in 2020 and 2021.

Rahul made his IPL debut in 2013 with the Royal Challengers Bangalore and played for two seasons with the Sunrisers Hyderabad before returning to RCB. In the following year, he compiled 593 runs before completing three successive seasons with 600-plus runs. The 31-year-old batter from Karnataka won the Orange Cap when he scored 670 runs for PBKS. Rahul also holds the record for the highest score by an IPL captain (132*).
